How are CBD cosmetics produced?
Generally it is important to mention that CBD can only be used in skincare if it has been obtained either synthetically or, since the end of 2020, also from various plant parts of the Cannabis sativa plant. Even-though synthetically produced CBD is not specifically regulated, the general legal requirements for cosmetics do apply.
For naturally extracted CBD from components of the hemp plant, it should be noted that resinous flowers or fruit stalks are prohibited and cannot be used for any cosmetics or skincare product. Seeds and leaves that are not mixed with inflorescences or fruiting parts, on the other hand, may be used in cosmetics and skincare products. The reason for this is that CBD cosmetics may not contain THC.
How does CBD cosmetics work and what positive properties does the active ingredient have for our skin?
Our skin, the largest human organ, contains so-called cannabinoid receptors to which CBD can excellently dock to and develop its positive properties. The active ingredient has an extremely positive effect on our skin due to its sebum-regulating and antioxidant, as well as skin-caring and skin-protecting properties. It is suitable for all skin types.
What makes our Dolocan® skincare line so special?
As a Swiss company, we are particularly proud that all our cosmetic products are manufactured exclusively in Switzerland under the highest quality standards. The Dolocan® skin care line is 100% vegan and contains highly efficient and innovative active ingredients. To set an example in terms of sustainability, we only use natural cannabidiol for our cosmetics, which has been tested to meet our high standards.
Can I take my CBD cosmetics with me on my next holiday?
We advise you to check in advance whether CBD is legal and officially recognised in your holiday destination. Within the EU countries, however, the same applies as in Switzerland and CBD in cosmetics and skincare products is officially recognised as an active ingredient and legal everywhere. It is important to know that a CBD product with a total THC content of at least 0.2% in the EU and at least 1.0% in Switzerland falls under narcotics law. However, the cosmetics law in the EU states and in Switzerland states that CBD cosmetics and skincare products must not contain THC. It is therefore no problem to take your Dolocan® CBD skincare products along on your next trip within any EU member state or Switzerland.
